Kef Blade to Blade meta?
I've gone as far as reaching out to KEF directly to find a pair to demo, unfortunately their choice of retailer, best buy, doesn't hire the most savvy sales rep's so the list of stores that the KEF rep told me had the meta's was incorrect and I haven't been able to find a pair to listen to. I'm not even sure what I'd like improved in the meta's, If anyone can describe the differences they hear in the blade meta's and what listening conditions were at the time I'd appreciate it. tia
@steve59 He likely has not seen the new responses. Steve59 is usually posting interesting audio info. BTW - I find the Reference 5 sounds a lot different than the Blades. I was rather disappointed in the Reference 5 since it did not have the placement and soundstage of the Blades. Then again, no other speaker I have heard does that as well as the Blades. |
@steve59 A speedy recovery. The last bit of detail is what I also feel the KEF aluminum drivers lack with respect to something like a Paradigm Persona's Beryllium drivers. Definitely more detail but you need a warm amp. My Yamaha NS5000 with the Zylon drivers are just as detailed as the Persona but not fatiguing. Saying all of that the Blades are still by all-time fav speaker because of the soundstage. I can actually buy the Blade now since my kid is old enough and the wife and dog are not as crazy in the audio Livingroom when they play. However, I am staying with the NS5000 since I love those Zylon drivers and always am happy when I hear the system.
