Petg60, thank you for your input. what's your opinion of the kef q950 vs the 104/2's?
I went ahead and bought the 104/2's but didn't think they sounded as articulate as the B&W's. Come to find out after taking the 104/2's apart both 8" woofers had di disintegrated center foams. The outside ring is rubber on these but the inside is foam. I guess there's no rhyme or reason as to why... Some of the have foam both inside and out.
That could be why they didn't sound as good. Have the foam ordered now and looking forward to doing the repair myself.
The guy with the Kef q950's apparently was out of town and it's back now so those are available for $810 pr in like new condition. If they are a much better speakers I may resell the 104/2's. I may have overpaid for them at $500 pr.
