The woofers in the 104/2 both work in the upwards firing position so no benefit from swapping them about.

I just recently bought a pair of these speakers in decent cosmetic condition. they’re the Bi-amp ones in Rosewood, the foam surrounds were supposed to have been done two years ago. I didn’t hink they sounded bad at all when I listened to them in the guys workshop. Once installed at home they wiped the floor with my Mission 765’s. on much more listening i began to think that maybe there should be a little more "sparkle" in the music. It was all there just a little set back. I wondered if they were condidates for the ferrofluid refresh. I ordered some fluid and did the job when it arrived after watching all I could on Utube. Boy did they need doing. the were almost bone dry and gummed up.Not sure if the link to a shared pic from my google account will work. https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipMirApNSpj5w7YIJg5Mkgh3qwWe3Lw8DbGo3W5gIMnd7VWL4mKK9KdxDqwIgbIysg?key=UXB4NDJwRUxPSDdYSHMzTlJMYS1IcV8tZ1FZVDRR Verdict is much better. that sparkle is now apparent more balanced and thankfully not too bright. I’m really pleased with these speakers, theyr’re so easy to listen to for decent periods. Not tiring like my missions were. |
