Many moons ago there was a magazine, "Hi-Fi Stereo Review".
I remember this cartoon.

This guy was at the Hi-Fi dealer checking out some new equipment, making a live vs. recorded test. On the other side was his helper backstage at the concert hall, holding a phone to a symphony orchestra.
