Jadis DA 30 or DA 50

Hi,

Can anyone out there provide me with feedback on the Jadis DA 30 or DA 50 integrated amp?

I am trying to decide whether or not to spend additional money to step up to a DA 30 or DA 50 or just stick with an Orchestra Reference.

Unlike the Orchestra and Orchestra Reference the DA series is suppose to be autobias Class A and direct lineage from the JA 30 monoblocks and DPL linestage.

Just wondering whether anyone has had an opportunity to audition both the Orchestra Reference and DA 30 side by side.

Thanks in advance for taking time to respond.

I have auditioned both, side by side, in the recent past (45 days). There is no comparision, the D30 sounds more open in the midrange, more airy in the highs. Soundstage is bigger too.

The DA 30 has an active linestage, the OR is strictly passive; the Orchestra Reference has Bass and Treble tone controls, should you wish to attempt to use them to your benefit.

If you are a US buyer, look out for ads for new Jadis equipment here by a seller called Nguyen based in Canada. Prices in the US are quite a bit higher than they are internationally.

Here in Asia, the Orchestra reference retails for around US$1900 new, and the DA-30 for about US$2900 which is $1000-2000 less than in the US, as I understand it.
