is there anyone that modifies audible illusions?

i have an audible illusions 2d. i have always enjoyed it, but am interested in modding it. can anyone recommend someone that mods them? also, can anyone give a comparison to a 3a or 3b? i am hoping to improve the imaging and soundstage as well as reduce the tiny bit of glare/grain in the upper mids. strong violins for instance tend to sound harsh and cause me to wince a bit. i am running a set of 6922 type3 from upscale audio. i was recommended to step down to the type2. i will try that as well...

FYI, I had a 2D and, like you, wanted to smooth out the upper reaches of violin (and brass) overtone.
My switch to the 3 accomplished much of my goal and a further update to the 3A made even more of a difference--in other areas as well but what I most wished was string sound approaching the real thing.
I finally dumped the Modulus but only from laziness as I wanted a PA with remote. I still believe it to be a fine choice for those who wish a very lovely sound with most of the "audiophile" traits (image, soundstage, dynamics, etc.) well in evidence.
I personally know of no real modifiers of the AA line which has always surprised me since there are so many of these units out there.
