Is there a "best" quality 5 pin DIN connector for phono cable applications?

Not really. Too many variables.

I replaced the original din cable on my Linn/Akito as it seemed it needed better shielding and there were actual rat bites on it (!) as the table had been stored by the previous owner. The replacement was Jelco branded Mogami cable with an nicely made gold plated din plug…utterly eliminated RF hum and sounds great.
