Is the MT-5 turntable compatible with ANY integrated amp

Hello,

Just bought an MT-5 TT to go along with my Luxman 509-x, plugged the cheap 12v power supply in, connected cables to amp and nothing turns on with the TT. I read a lot about is being compatible with any McIntosh amp, but curious if it doesn't work with other brands. Would seem weird to me. Might be the power supply and hoping it is nothing more. Thanks in advance.

The Luxman 509-x has a phono pre-amp built in, so it will accept the output of the turntable directly.  Make sure you connect to the inputs of the Luxman on the far left, labeled "phono".  Normally most integrateds can't accept input directly from a TT, this being an exception.  On the front of the Luxman, of course choose phono on the input selector, and I see that it also has a cartridge selector switch for mm/mc choice.  If you have the standard Sumiko Amethyst cartridge, select mm.  You should be ready to go spinning.

I appreciate the reply. My issue is the TT won't even turn on. Ordered a replacement 12v power supply from McIntosh ($110) as manual states do not use a substitute power supply. Hope that is the only issue...
