Is it a semiconductor?

Is the quartz crystal resonator a semiconductor device?
Quartz crystal resonator is composed of quartz wafer (main content is silicon dioxide), silver glue, ceramic base, cover, etc. May I ask whether the quartz crystal resonator is a semiconductor device

The following is the treatise I meant to link, in my initial response (OOPS).

To me: the above (piezoelectric effect) more closely describes that resonator's function, from a VERY cursory read of your link.

Quartz is used widely, in the semiconductor industry.

Quartz is made of Silica (Silicon Dioxide), which IS THE primary ingredient, when making semiconductors.

Whether what you’ve described would be considered a, "semiconductor device" is another story.
