Impulse Records: Music, Message And The Moment

I'm listening to this right now. It's really impressive. The song choices are well thought out, fidelity is excellent. I have a couple of the tracks on original vinyl and it's totally on par. However, as an FYI, and it might have just been my copy, but the discs had extreme static build up. To the point that it was really difficult to pull the vinyl from the sleeve. I didn't think much of it, but then I had some distortion on about three tracks during high points in songs (horn, harp, etc) and I thought I got a bum pressing, because I checked it against the original vinyl and nothing on the original. So I decided to give the discs a good wash and the distortion disappeared. Something to keep in mind. But overall, I think you'll love it.

I also think the quality may vary.
I don't think this release will sound as good as the original pressings, but if it is close, it's good enough.
I also clean new records with my ultrasonic cleaner. 
Anyway, I will give a try on this one.

I got the records.
They are pretty good.
Compared to some of original Impulse records I have, I like the original better. It should be no brainer.
Its quality is better than most reissue records and new Jazz records I bought recently.
