I used the Voodoo adapater for a time with my Hydra 8 until I was able to purchase a 20 Amp Shunyata Andaconna.
Quite frankly, the adapter allowed me to try many different power cords.
As a adapter to a a high end power cord it probably is a negative, because it changes the original "voice" of the power cord.
P.S. I don't think you could notice a difference in a blind test.
