I had their ST30SE,the Single Ended KT150 model..OMG it was AMAZING!
EVERYTHING was beyond reproach, the sound absolutely sublime..I had to downsize or it would have been buried with me!
Icon Audio, any opinions?
You don't see much of them, but I've heard a few of their integrated valve amps over the years and they seemed really enjoyable. I'm throwing together a 3rd system in a spare room and might want to go for an integrated. Any users?
I am looking at their 300B and 845 models, though I'd consider others as well. I have a spare set old Evolution Acoustics Micro One speakers that I would start out with, although I would eventually try other models just for fun. The room is smaller so I don't need a ton of power.
Thank you for the feedback everyone. I think that settles it, I'm going to give them a try and see how it goes. Looking at the Stereo 300 mkII which is a 300B design with 30 watts per channel. Looks like they offer factory capacitor upgrades, I always go for that if possible as the caps make a huge impact on the final sound. |
Definitely go with the upgrades, I did with the preamp. I assume you're in the US, I used https://www.audioarcan.com/ but that was a couple years ago, they are located in Canada so not sure if the tariffs affect it, Warren was great to work with. JD |
@996turbo911 are you enjoying the Icon 300B? |
@pdreher I picked one up but am still working out the rest of the details for this system. It's just sitting here in the box for now. I did open it up to inspect it and I love the looks of it though. Even better in person with the copper metal piece, very sharp looking. Might be a while still before I get everything set up though. |
