I don't know how people think this stuff up. Currently listening to Juana Molina's Tres Cosas CD and her unabashed creativity has me enthralled. Every genre and period whether classical or modern has a bunch of 'em. Boy am I glad.
It's getting to be a lost art with modern artists sampling and covering and stealing all they can from the past. I agree, a great performance is most impressive when the performer is also the creator. How satisfying putting great music together must be.
