I need help with my next upgrade

I have the CEC amp5300 with the cec tl51xr cd player. My speakers are the audio physic step monitors. I am wondering if anyone has any good ideas about what my next purchase should be in order to better my sound.

I am thinking i should either get a new amp or a really nice dac. I can spend around 2500-3000$. The sound of my system is very smooth and natural with good speed and dynamics. However my amp does have an easily triggered overload shutoff mechanism and I would love to have an amp that can play loud when I want it.

I have been thinking about a few options. I have been looking into Audiomat, Rogue, Belles, and wyred4sound for amps.

Just looking for some ideas.
