I have a conundrum with internet radio

Hello AG

I have sent a similar message to Novatron for some guidance.

I have a Cocktail Audio X40 that I originally purchased just to rip my cds so I did not have to search through my collection. I have since used it to stream Tidal and use the internet radio function. I use the X40 xlr digital out into a Denafrips Gaia and I2s into a Denafrips Terminator II with very good results. Now the rub, when I go to an internet radio station marked as HD say 320 kbps the X40 will play about 2 seconds and shut down. All other stations really sound good. A friend of mine is feeding a Parasound P6 from an Ocean Digital WR 10 and has no problems playing any channels marked HD or 320 kbps. I have tried on three different dacs no luck. Perhaps I am missing a setting in the X40. I am not exactly a computer savant so I know I am missing something somewhere. Anyone out there that can point me in the right direction?

Best regards

Just some thoughts. Are you using wireless or a hard wired network connection? If wireless, you might see if a wired connection makes a difference. Can you play any 320kbps stations? My streamer works fine with 44k streams, but not with 48k, I get silence.

Why don't you try to narrow down the issue by hooking up the Cocktail directly into the Terminator with optical cable, and see if it works. That would tell you if it's the Gaia or the I2s.
