I Acquired a VK-3i preamp that needed some love

I acquired the preamp along with a VK-60 amp and it had some issues.  I tested the voltage at the balanced outputs and found the voltage to be overly high and unstable.  When first turning it on the voltage started out at 2.3V, dropped down to 1.7V then rose up to 3.3V.  I spoke to V.K. at BAT, he suggesting replacing the four coupling caps with 3.3uf, 400volt V-Caps  (these are pricey!  $400. with tax and delivery). So I did.  These are the caps inside the black boxes.  It solved the problem.
The preamp sounds phenomenal.  Any of you BAT owners that have a preamp, I strongly suggest replacing the coupling caps with V-Caps.  It will bring new life to your gear.  The caps are nearly 30 years old.  Now, onto the VK-60 amp.
