HOW TO REPLACE THE CHORD QUTEST POWER SUPPLY WITH THE S BOOSTER MARK II
I have the Chord Qutest and am pleased with the sound, but looking to upgrade with a new Dac such as the Weiss 204 or I could upgrade the Chord with a new power supply such as the S Booster MK II. I'd be curious to hear the difference in sound. My question is where can I get step by step directions to install the S booster? I have no mechanical ability and would not be interested in cutting any wires because that could be a recipe for disaster. Would anybody be able to provide instructions or lead me to a place that has guidance on installation? Thank you.
@kjl1065 FYI…Rob Watts does not recommend using linear power supplies with his DACs. I had a Qutest and it’s an awesome DAC. You’re probably better off upgrading interconnects. If you do get the s booster, if you order one that’s compatible with the Qutest it’s pretty much plug and play, a direct replacement for the SMPS. |
