How to play DVD-Audio discs on laptop?

I have a relatively high end HP laptop, which I think is supposed to play DVD-Audio discs. In Control Panel, there is an option section under Autoplay titled, DVD-Audio, and I selected from the drop down list, "Ask me every time". But when I insert a DVD-Audio disc into the DVD drive, nothing happens.

Any ideas how to get DVD-Audio titles to play and output the 96/24 digital output over a USB cable?

If this is not possible, how can I rip a DVD-Audio disc to flac files and then play them?  Thanks.

DVD Audio Extractor is PC software which permits you to extract the high resolution audio tracks from DVD discs and then play them back from the resultant files. Pretty easy to setup and use according to your preferences and there is a free 30 day trial period with full functionality.
