How to kill 2 birds with 1 stone

THATS MY PROBLEM. I'M LOOKING FOR A PAIR OF FULL RANGE SPEAKERS, PREFERABLY, ONES THAT COULD BE WALL MOUNTED, THAT WORK WELL FOR LIVE MUSIC REPRODUCTION (PA MAINS), AS WELL AS RECORDED MUSICAL REPRODUCTION. SPEAKERS SHOULD BE ABLE TO HANDLE ALL TYPES OF MUSIC, SOUND GOOD AT HIGH AND LOW DBS. ROOM IS APPROX. 20X50FT. THANKS FOR ALL RESPONSES, THOUGHTS AND SUGGESTIONS!

look into some of the electrovoice pro gear. It's probably as close as you'll get but i don't think it will be truely full range. A local blues club has a small pair of EV wedges mounted on the wall but i'd guess the mounts need to be pretty stout. They could use a sub as well but then again the room is pretty bad. if you skip the wall mount thing a pair of EV S-15s are killer. You can put them on stands if you want. I've used them for monitors and along with subs for mains in fairly large clubs and some outdoor shows and they worked well. You should look into some real power though. Carvin makes some relatively cheap gear (compared to EV) that has a good reputation. Keep in mind PA gear ain't high end and a pair of EVs won't pass for Dunlavy SC IVs. good luck
I don't know about wall placement, but perhaps horn loaded speakers would be something to look into, unless you have gobs of power (they will give you definition at both high and low listening levels, though not the best bass response unless you spend a lot on them). Newer models by JBL, models from AR with built in powered subs and the vintage Yamaha 1000 monitors (though I don't know if they would hold up to continuous loud play due to their age) might fill the bill. The Yamahas are one of my favorite vintage speakers and are quite efficient, though will also handle a lot of power. If you have a local studio or pro sound shop ask them what will work in your room. We also have a few members that have a great deal of studio experience and hopefully they can give you some good tips on modern speakers. Are the speakers going to fire the length of the room, or the other way around and what do you have to push them with? Also, what is the ceiling height and your budget?
Genelec makes some speakers that might work for you, they'll certainly cover like music, and don't sound to ad.
Professional Monitor Company. They have all ranges of speakers and some are designed for exactly that purpose. I have their little monitors and can't say enough about them.
EVERONE, THANKS FOR THE FEEDBACK! HERE;S ALITTLE MORE DETAIL ON WHAT I'M WANTING TO DO.THE ROOM IS APROX. 18X52, W/8FT CEILINGS. ALL WALLS AND CEILING ARE DRYWALL; FLOOR WILL BE TILE. THE SPEAKERS WILL FIRE LONG WAYS,FROM THE FRONT OF THE ROOM TO THE BACK.I WILL USE A POWERED MIXER,OR SEPERATE AMP AND BOARD.I'M THINKING OF WALL MOUNT SPEAKERS,JUST FOR FLOOR SPACE NEEDS;BUT STAND MOUNTED SPEAKERS ARE AN OPTION.BUDGET IS 3000 TO $5000.THANKS AGAIN FOR ANY SUGGESTIONS!
