A resistor broke and a PS wire melted its insulation with smoke was the fail mode when I turned it on.It takes a bit of current to melt insulation on a wire! That suggests a short- I suspect the power tubes had nothing to do with it.
How to get KT90s tested
Can anyone advise how to test or get tested EI KT99 tubes/valves please?
Jadis when I returned my integrated for a power supply repair claimed they were faulty and sold me KT120s at €120 on the basis they wouldn't warrant the repair.
The KT99s were great and I'd like to confirm the Jadis diagnosis. I'm in Europe but they're light enough to ship anywhere.
