How to Connect Cobalt Cables Speaker Cables?

Evidently there has been some mixup, maybe?? Either someone sent you a pair of Cobalt's interconnects by mistake, or possibly you ordered the interconnects instead of the speaker cables? Their nomenclature IS possibly a bit misleading, I know. But, the fact remains that NO pair of speaker cables, from any maker, including Cobalt Audio, comes with RCA connectors...just never done that way, is all.

Are you sure they are not banana plugs, as shown here, rather than RCAs?

If that's the case, and your amp and speakers do not accept banana plugs, Google "banana to spade adapter" (with the quotes) and you'll probably find something suitable.

BTW, although it undoubtedly has no relevance in this case, I'll mention that 40 or 50 years ago or thereabouts there were some passive speakers manufactured that were connected to via RCAs. (Active speakers, containing their own amplifier, are of course often connected to via ordinary RCA interconnect cables).

Al, it had indeed slipped my mind about powered speakers. Had no knowledge whatsoever about the use of RCA-type speaker cables from back in the day :) And a good suggestion to make sure they're not bananas, which is indeed what Cobalt offers.

If they are indeed banana's you may have to remove the safety plugs that many speaker makers put into the end of the binding posts.

I think it would be a good idea if the OP can post a picture of the cables and list the system.
