You must have been vacationing on the moon for the last two years. As @bigtwin  said, every aspect of the subject has been discussed on the thread he mentioned. Coincidentally, the thread was just closed yesterday due to the posts of a well know troublemaker on this site, but it has not been removed, so there's plenty to read.

Good idea. There actually were some good recommendations on the thread for non counterfeit Chinese cable brands that are great for those like myself who aren't wealthy. It also gave a few self- righteous folks the opportunity to feel moreso.

It is if they are using the Nordost name.

Well, it looks like the old thread isn't dead after all...

If a buyer on the used market is in doubt they can check the serial number with the manufacturer.
