how does the transporter rate

i have audio aero capitole se mk ii, how does it compare to hooking up a transporter from slim devices, using flac files , is it open and transparent and lots of detail

I'm not sure I would buy the Transporter again. The measurements are great on it. The noise floor is 10 dB lower than the Benchmark DAC 1. I'm in the process of A-B'ing the transporter against several DACs. I have an MSB DAC still in the box I'm going to try. I think the MF Tri-vista might be might next test. I have a transporter, a squeezebox and a Rega Apollo. Neither Slim Device quite measures up to the Apollo but their convenience is fantastic. regards, David

Steve, how are you determining the jitter at a certain level - listening or measurements. The TP jitter matches the Benchmark DAC 1 while having about a 10 dB lower noise floor. The Benchmakr is generally considered a very good DAC. regards, David
