How do I remove woofer from DCM Time Windows?

I need to remove the woofers from my DCM Time Windows (to have them repaired) I know they are screwed in from the front under that glue or what ever that sealant is around the edge of the speaker, but I cant seem to get to them I went around them with a razor and tried to dig out the glue were I assume the screws are but I dont want to damage them so I am being very careful, is there a trick to this or an easy way to do it?
