House Call

A few weeks ago I posted about my visit with the Audio Doctor. I found speakers that I really liked. I did some more listening and returned to the shop last Sunday. We were driving up to NYC from Philly, and Dave kindly opened his shop on Sunday evening. I listened to the speakers I liked (Vivid 1.5) and other speakers, even big heavy ones that were out of my price range and Dave had to lug around (no wonder his back hurts).
I decided that the Vivids were best for me (I ended up adding a JL subwoofer).
Yesterday, Dave drove up to my house in Ct., getting stuck in GW bridge traffic. We spent hours setting everything up.
He custom made new speaker cables for me (he was aghast at what I was using).
Both the Vivids and the sub were demos, so not a real high profit sale for him.
I just wanted to give another shout out to him and his service, prices and his shop which has an incredible selection or equipment. I am not a troll, toady or paid spokesperson etc. but again really felt that I needed to give a shout out.

If you have read so far, I will say that these are amazing speakers. Vivid 1.5. Their speed and clarity just floors me. When I first started looking, I was intent on a pair of PSB T3 which were well reviewed and I had found a pair of demos (elsewhere). These are much better. I compared them to the PSBs, Martin Logan 11, Kef 1, Persona monitors, Janszens with the air option and Focal 1028 among others. The Martin Logan were the closest, but room matching was a concern. The PSBs did not do female vocals to my liking.

I just got up this morning and I am drinking my coffee enjoying the music.

As yesterday was my birthday, I got a nice birthday present with excellent delivery service.

Thank you.
I haven't been able to get up all day, just enjoying the sound. Playing with the position and subwoofer setup. I don't know what to do with the "phase control" so a lot of trial and error.
@crwindy   Thanks for sharing your experience with the dealer and the speakers. Great to hear positive reports on service provided by an audio establishment. Keep us Vividly updated on your findings with your Birthday Present.
I think that the port on the bottom reminds me of Edvard Munch's "The Scream."
I like the look but they are not to everyone's taste.
No matter what they look like, I love to close my eyes and just listen.
Always great to hear of customer service like that!  And kudos to you for posting as well.

Haven't heard the Vivids but they are sweet looking speakers.  Congrats.

That's the first thing I do every morning I'm home, the amps go on first, then the coffee is made.
