High Fidelity Cables CT-1designed by Rick Schultz

In December 2011,I wrote that High Fidelity cables led by cable designer Rick Schultz was putting together a new cable. The cable came to market as CT-1.The CT-1 has FINALLY made it into my system!I had obtained a version of the prototype that Rick had been working on.It blew my previous reference Genesis by Virtual Dynamics.I thought I had finally found my end with this cable. This prototype delivered to my ears "Nirvana".Could I be at the end of my quest for the ultimate sound?
No. I received two pairs of CT-1 to replace my prototypes. They went into the system this past Friday.Unable to dedicate time until Sunday listening,I stole a few moments, ducking away from company with anticipation. My guest could tell even with the music set for"ambiance"something was intriguing and I was in for a treat!
The experience:
First off,CT-1 was very user friendly.Installation was simple;the cable is very nice and light. The female RCA fit beautifully unlike any I had found in other cable. It was secure and reliable. It seemed much thought was dedicated to developing a designer fit to an aesthetically stunning RCA connector.Install entailed a few wiggles to ensure what seemed like a compression fit on my RCA.
It was 2-3 hrs. for the 1st step of break in to be complete. At that point I had something different!Today, although they only have 10-12 hrs. on them,I can`t put into words how much my system has transformed.Believe me,I loved my prototypes.However....there is simply no comparision.
The clarity and sound is so natural.
The soundstage is like nothing I ever heard.Resoulution is breathtaking and inner detail is simply hard to believe possible.
The sound has transended and now it simply does not seem as thought I have speakers.
My system is musicians playing music.
I am told with time they will improve and I trust that as it was revealed with the prototypes.I wanted to share my thoughts with you that now.
Unequivocally,a testament to High Fidelity,as the name declares.
High Fidelity Cables for me,the last word on it,after 12 hours!
Truly Amazing

@cmsgolf. I have really enjoyed the gato fm6 so far. The best speaker I have owned so far. They have scan speak drivers and a ring radiator tweeter that is airy detailed and non offensive. Midrange is very open. The bass is full and punchy. I like a little extra in bass actually. @lak I got the walnut. They are stunning. They sound great. I can't take credit for them. Golden sound was they member who told me about them and has another pair. This my last speaker fellas. To beat the sound I'm hearing now would take 2.5 to 3 times in dollars and I'm not doing that.
Yup. You would have a whole quarter. That's a good one. It's all in fun. I'm really enjoying this speaker. I had to get them shipped from the europe. The Gato fm6 is a beauty. I'm using my high fidelity ultimates and the treble is so good now it's like a misty vapor with this speaker. The piano notes are beautiful. The midrange is open and clear. The bass has good drive and is weighty and agile.
@cmsgolf. These speakers are special the wife stop and said they really sound good. She usually doesn't pay attention. They match my room perfectly. I went to listen to some Wilsons a month and a half ago and I went to listen to my friends gato's an hour later and I said that these speakers did good enough that I didn't miss hearing the Wilsons. For the price they are an overachiever. My friend has threw different solid state and tube components at them and they always perform like a champ. They are stunning to look at and listen to. @ddraudt. The speakers sound great. @tbg I know I'm switching up a lot. But I'm very happy so far. I can't wait to come home from work to listen. I'm using the kr audio on them right now. They have great musical nuance. @everyone else changes are part of the journey. Lol. Enjoy everyone.
@ddraudt. @tbg@lak@cmsgolf. I'm really enjoying the gato fm6 speaker. I think they compare with the big boys at a great price. I don't hear any weaknesses. I use the high fidelity ultimate cabling and it works like a charm. Sounds great. Getting more listening in daily. I still need to break them in for a couple months. I heard the speakers get better.

@ddraudt. The gato company seems to be taking a fresh and different approach. I like that. I guess that's why high fidelity intrigued me initially. Very motivated people to make a great product. The realism in my interconnect is amazing the is a great amount of air in my treble and decay. The piano runs are just lovely and popping.
@everyone. Enjoy your systems. I have really listened a lot since my new speakers got here. The high fidelity interconnects with this speaker allow me to really enjoy my music even more. We all listen to our systems more than anyone else would. Your system is for you to enjoy along with a couple of listening sessions with friends and the occasional visitors. I'm happy with my ct 1 ultimate interconnects and power cord. It provides a great and realistic sound. I'm happier when I listen to my music. Just remember why you got into the hobby. You enjoyed the music. Find what works for you and go for it. Be happy for you.
@ddraudt. Glad you are enjoying. Great sounds for me. High fidelity ultimate along with the gato speakers sweet music to my ears. I'm enjoying my music. It's good that you are enthusiastic about your system. It's good that you talk about what it does do instead of what it doesn't. Some people on this thread never talk about sound. Just what stuff can't do. Music makes u happy. Go for it.
@tbg I agree with you the pianos on high fidelity is amazing you hear the strike and the different notes clear and real sounding. Especially when the piano player is really good the keys roll and decay perfectly.
I'm trying the new power cord and I'm experimenting with some other things in my system. Will report how it sounds soon.
I think I might be able to make it fellas. I will know by Tuesday if I can come.
@kzhtoo@rdoc enjoy. The sound of high fidelity is realistic and ear pleasing. Was listening to the album "The Bright Mississippi" by Allen Toussaint tonight and the realness of the drum work and the cymbal decays were flat out astounding using the high fidelity stuff.
@lak. They are a joy. Be patient with them and reap the rewards. I enjoy my ultimate interconnects. Sometimes I think of trying something else then my interconnects slap some sense back into me and say "REALLY". Sounds like real music.
@Ddraudt@lak I was listening to my system this week a lot after i took some days off at first I was worried but I had to remember that my speakers needed to be broken in. I have had them now for about 3 months I probably have put 350 hours on them now. This week they really opened up and the music became even more realistic. I'm using high fidelity ultimately on it right now. I will probably be putting an ultimate reference in the system soon to get another bump in performance. I'm running the kr audio va900 integrated amplifier with the gato fm6 from Denmark. There are probably only 3 to 5 people in the United States that have my speaker and they are truly amazing. When you add some high fidelity in the mix it takes it to a whole other level. You have to let cables settle in and you have to be patient with your equipment. Break in is for real. I'm enjoying my music. I hadn't posted for a while because of the folks that were posting that had never listened to the product being negative and not adding anything. I enjoy high fidelity and the music and enjoyment that both bring. Once again in my system I have a sound that is fast yet musical. The backgrounds are full of information. I was listening to a jazz album today and you could hear some of the musicians talking and making sounds in the background. That's comes from the depth in sound that my system has along with the high fidelity that has my system performing extremely well.
@ddraudt. I got to get to Norm's. I always got something going. I want to hear his system. I enjoy additional new approaches to system building as well as listening to those that have taken a long time to get to this point.
@rlawry. That URR power cord really takes things to another level. It just pulls all the instruments out the speaker into the room. Enjoy.
I will get a time this summer that's good for the both of us. I like the fact that you have built your system differently than most and that you use the high fidelity stuff which is also different from other things. Looking forward to the experience. I'm using a kr audio va900 along with my gato fm6. High fidelity ultimate stuff as well. Different combination. I also use the resonessence invicta dac.
@tbg@ddraudt. I will try to make it happen before norms pilgrimage to New Mexico. Lol.
@meadowlark did you ever own the Marantz Sa 7s1. If you did what were your thoughts. @everyone. Enjoy your music while you are here. Don't forget that we are all blessed to be in this hobby.
@tbg@ddraudt@lak@jazzonthehudson. I just got a demo of the NEW high fidelity ultimate reference rhodium helix design power cord. It made me go WOWWW!!! It has a top end with sweet decays. It's midrange is open, full, textured. Both the lower midrange and the upper midrange. It's bass is deep and tight. It also give the music plenty of drive and throws a wide deep soundstage. I used it on my resonessence mirus dac and it was like giving that dac steroids. I've never heard a power cable that gave a component a big spacious sound like that. It's improved over the other high fidelity cables because it gives you even more of the music. It lets you hear deep into the performance like I have never have before. This is a winner. Best power cable I've heard so far period ever!!!
I went from an ultimate to compare it to this new one. It's really amazing what it did with my dac. Really blew up my soundstage in my room. My listen room is a really odd shape and it just filled the room. Still has that musical precision. I don't know the price yet. I really like the fact that gets a more of things like the piano. It goes deeper. You hear inside the piano deeper. Background is completely black. Love the music. The horns open up and you can hear a little bit of the spit coming through the instrument. Just live and yet pleasing.
@ddraudt. @lak @tbg and anyone else. My apologies. The power cord I have is the ultimate reference rhodium. It incorporates the helix design. It's the one high fidelity line that I never had in my system before. I don't want to mislead anyone. This cord is already out and it was the only one that I never had in my system. Once again it came in and just made everything sound better. Sorry for any misunderstandings. Of course I get excited when my system sounds better than it did before. Everyone enjoy your Saturday listening sessions.
@ddraudt. The ultimate reference rhodium is the one thing the I never owned or had an extended demo of. It really gets better as you go up the line. I'm really enjoying this. I guess that's why I got so excited. It just got better than what I ever heard before. I have a really good setup with my resonessence dac. My gato fm6 speakers and my kr audio va 900. I actually tailor my system to have the high fidelity stuff in it because it gets so many of the things sound wise so right and better than I had heard. Anyway we all have to go on our musical journeys. The one thing that I find is that you can't let other people tell you what is right or what you like. Listen and enjoy for your own system.
I know I put this thing on my dac and the dac and it completely opened it up. It let the music really come through. Really put the musicians in the room with me. If it doesn't work for somebody else that's whatever. It does do it for my ears.
@lak that self control is true. Once you hear it you don't want to go backwards. Lol
@calloway. Enjoy them. When you match it all up it gives a good sense of realism especially when you let them settle in real good
Calloway. Enjoy it. It's special. Glad to know we have happy ears around here. Lol
Well I listened today for an hour tonight. Once again just took ultimate reference rhodium took it to another level of music and clarity. Goes deep inside the instruments and the nuances they have. Open without being bright or offensive. Great initial impact with body and just the right amount of weight. Great sounds.
@calloway. As long as it didn't mess your system that is the important part. As an audiophile. Lol
@everyone. Only on our thread does it go this way. Lol. Any way system is sounding pretty good over here high fidelity is doing it good.
@guidocorona. As I listen to the ultimate reference rhodioun power cord I just sit in awe of how much more of the music I hear now. I have listened to every line in extended sessions of this product. With improvements going up in each level. The highs are non-offensive and airy the midrange is special and stands out. It allows the pianos to shine and the keys flow. The drum work and percussion is speedy and informative with great initial impact. The bass is tight and rhythmic. Rick has truly a special line and I'm glad to know others are enjoying them as much as I do. @ddraudt how are you. How is the system sounding.@tbg how is New Mexico. @lak how is it sounding so far?
@lak I'm glad to hear you are enjoying your system. Congrats on the new dac order. I loaned my resonessence mirus to friend for a couple of weeks. I decided to get a small tuned CD player. I got the eastern electrics minimax. I put some amperex NOS tubes in and I'm really enjoying the sound with the high fidelity ultimate reference rhodium power cable and high fidelity ultimate interconnects. I got some bi wired speaker cables from clarity cables and the synergy sounds superb. I'm using the Kr audio va 900 on the gato audio fm6 speakers. Great sound. Happy sounds. High fidelity is sounding excellent in my system. Puts the instruments in my room. The clarity cable speaker cables add even more fullness. The high fidelity gives me the prat that I love.
@ddraudt and others. The level of clarity brought by the high fidelity stuff is eye opening. You can get there what ever way you choose to. I have actually made adjustments in my system because I love the big positives that the high fidelity stuff brings to my stystem. I have mixed and matched out equipment to adjust and find the system and things l like. I keep the cables in because they just bring the performance right into my room like nothing I've heard. To each his own but the high fidelity stuff allows me performance I had never experienced until I put them in. Enjoy your music no matter what. Enjoy everyone.
@ddraudt. I actually made changes to my system to make sure the high fidelity stuff stayed in my system. It just allows the musicians to be heard in a way on my jazz that shows how well they play and reveals some of the little things they do. Man I hope you enjoy the helix stuff. For me in my stuff I hear speed, layering and decay to levels I hadn't heard ever. Congrats on your new stuff sounds fun.
Comment on a comment or do you want to comment on how something sounds. Ah duh!
Well I have the opportunity to tryout an E.A.R acute mk1 CD player. I will have the opportunity late this week. I have always been interested in hearing how it sounds. We will see. I have some Telefunken tubes as well as some nos amperex to try with them. Wish me luck! I have my high fidelity power cord and interconnects stuff ready. Gato fm6, KR audio va900. Clarity speaker cables and now the E.A.R acute CD player to stick into the equation. Will report back on weekend.
@ddraudt. How are things sounding. @tbg how was New Mexico this year. How is your system there.
Great. Resonessence dac sounds great. EAR Acute CD player sounds great. The high fidelity ultimate interconnect really work amazing with the EAR acute and Seimens tubes got this system singing.
@ddraudt I thought about changing my interconnects and the high fidelity jumped up and slapped me back into my musical senses tonight. So close to the performance I apologized to them. Lol.
@ptss wow I guess you you were listening to my system tonight. I guess I was wrong someone on a forum was sitting in my house that I didn't know was here.@ddraudt anyway. I was listening to Cecile mclorin savant new album tonight. I also played Dave holland and Pepe habuchuela album called " Hands" and I compared the high fidelity ultimate to another interconnect tonight. The backgrounds on the high fidelity were blacker. The instruments had more air and space around them and were properly placed. The pace of the music was quicker and there was more attack on the guitar. Every now and then you can hear the guys quietly speak in the background while playing. Sometimes there is a heavy sigh or breathing. I'm really enjoying my system more. I got a used EAR CD player and it mates really good with the high fidelity ultimate and the seimens nos tubes I put in the EAR acute.
@ddraudt I have gotten pretty used to this level of performance and I feel blessed that I have had the opportunity to listen to audio at this level. I look forward products pushing the envelope on where we can go with sound improvements. I guess I'm different because I'm a cd guy but i enjoy getting a couple a week and letting them wow me. Lol. I don't know if I can ever own the top of the line and custom products like you have but I'm really enjoying what I have
@tbg how are you. I been playing around with my system a little bit. A few cables and isolation products. I have been tube rolling that CD player and found an excellent match with the seimens. I'm going to doing more this weekend. I hope you are enjoying yours. I've been comparing my high fidelity stuff to a few things and I keep coming back to them. Especially the interconnects with my CD player. Guitar and drums are amazing. I'm going to try a few tweaks here soon
