I pray for those who speak falsehoods. I appreciate all the audiophiles who read the threads. I remember the first negative comment I got on audiogon 5 years ago came from you. You know who you are. Lol. I will not speak your name. It had nothing to do with sound. Honestly, it doesn't surprise me you are who you are. Lol. I shouldn't expect anything else. Considering the source. Anyway, anyone reading this listen for yourself don't let me or anyone else decide what sounds good to you. I have my own business and I spend my time in the hobby. If something sounds good I will tell you. If it sounds great I will tell you a whole bunch of times. @lak keep enjoying the music. @ddraudt keep sharing your adventures with us. I'm listening to Kenny Garrett tonight. @lak you might want to try that artist. @everyone notice how no one ever says I'm wrong about how it sounds. They just throw up conspiracy theories. It's simple I could care less about how long or often somebody has been in cyberspace. Does it sound good or not. If that is the most important thing to you read my posts. If it's not then ignore me. It's just that simple. People posts here because they want to know what your ears hear. They could care less about the opinion of your tongue. Lol. |
@uh oh. I did it again I let them get me to about things other than how it sounds. Lol. I got to remember sound is not important conspiracies are! Lol. |
@raks@rlawry@ddraudt@jazzonthehudson@lak. Do you guys find that the music moves faster with the high fidelity in the equation. They seemed to be quicker. I went to friends and got a power cable and substituted it in for a while and the music lost prat. What are your experiences. |
@ddraudt. They will find happy, satisfied audiophiles anywhere and bring them down. @everyone if you like your sound and you post here be careful. You will be accused of marketing even though your accusers have never actually heard the product that you are happy with. There is no way possible anyone could be happy with an audio product and keep it for a long time that's not possible in audio. It's not supposed to happen you better not break the rules. Oh I forgot a grown man is supposed to get approval from a stranger before he buys an audio product or tells somebody else it sounds good. Even though the stranger hasn't heard what he tells you not to buy. Oh I get it. Genius. Why would another man care about how much another likes or dislikes a particular product. I tell you why because they think you are all fools and they are the experts. Enjoy what you have. Get what you can. Do what you want or like but remember to get approval from some strange guys that you know nothing about. I have a suggestion. Listen for yourself!!!!!. You don't ask a vegetarian how the steaks taste at a resteraunt. Why in the world would you trust a guy who comments about something they have never heard!!! Oh longtime audiogon members have all the answers. They tell you what to do and you better listen because after all they are wayyyy smarter than the rest of us shorter time audio members. |
@rlawry I'm guilty as charged. Sentence me to life!!!. I want the best sound I can get. Now you are a man I would listen to. You are speaking the truth about us all. |
@lak. If you like latin Jazz at all. Listen to Buena Vista Social club. Cuban band. I don't speak spanish but the musicians play with so much emotion. The person and the instrument are one. Also Pancho Sanchez "Conga Blue" is a great album. If you are in it for the music take a listen. You will be moved by the music. @ddraudt. I listened to Michael Buble tonight. I know it's cheesy but he records well. Lol. I also went back in time today and pulled out some r&b Michael Cooper. He is the former lead singer of Con Funk Shun. Older album. I had a great time today after work. Listening. High Fidelity is getting it done on r&b, jazz, world music, latin Jazz and Blues. If you are a big time Blues fan. My favorite blues album I have ever heard is Lightnin Hopkins "Blues Hoot". He is from Texas. Get the Dcc version. It's remastered and expensive. However, the sound quality is amazing and it ps recorded well. Lightnin inspired a lot of the Rock Bands and they refer to him as one of the greatest they have heard. My grandfather listened to him when I was younger on the 8track tapes in the Cadillac. It's all about the music for me. It's about the sound and if the equipment sounds good. I could care less about someone I will never meet telling me that I say I like something too much too many times. Audiophiles don't let me or anyone tell you what's good listen to it. I tried a whole bunch of cables from other high end brands to DIY stuff. It's not even close as far as I'm concerned. Cost is more but performance of the high fidelity stuff is amazing. The highs are extended and non-fatiguing. They are non-offensive. Detailed without being bright. Just the right amount of metal and splash. Decay is special on cymbals. The upper midrange is sweet. The initial strike of guitar and piano notes is special in the initial attack. It allows the player to get on and off the note and you can hear the inside of piano and guitar. Voices are realistic open and real sounding. The lower midrange and upper bass is nuetral and does not allow those areas to get out of control. The mid bass and lower bass is deep tight and realistic. When low drum rolls hit it's snappy with just the right amount of thump. The upright bass guitar is woody and organic. Speed and prat is uncanny fast and can unravel any complex passages thrown at it. So there is my music suggestions and there is my high fidelity ultimate review. This stuff is like cake to a Fat kid. I love it. Lol. I could go on and on but then I would just be using words not talking about sound. #dont talk just listen. Get it. Those who talk and don't listen usually don't get it. They just give you words with no sound. Lol. Boom. Boom. Boom. Couples retreat Boom Boom Boom. Lol. |
@ddraudt the trolls are mutating. I've have never seen it in my life three guys that have nothing to say about the product with nothing to say about the sound attacking those who have heard them and are commenting about the sound that they like. Are you kidding me? I'm watching three grown men telling other grown men what and how to spend their money on. What kind of foolery is this? Audiophiles get the best sound that they can get. I'm happy if you find any cable or product it's your business. I'm not going to tell you not to like it or not. It's a personal choice. I've had read a bunch of threads and I have never seen guys determined to tell you what you are not hearing even though they have never heard it. Lol. If you want to haul gravel in your mouth at 10 cent a load it's your business. Not one post they describe if it's good or not. Can't describe the treble, bass, soundstage, dynamics, detail, separation or decay. But they post anyway. I have really enjoyed my time with my high fidelity and will continue too. Best I've heard so far. I can tell you what I like about them. They can't tell you what they don't like. Lol. Don't talk just listen. |
@ddraudt great insight. Had another jazz session yesterday. Best thing to do after a long stressful day. Music is medication to patients. Lol. I'm enjoying it all more since I got the high fidelity stuff. It's been a wonderful sound trip. I will try your music suggestions soon. I usually use the sd card function on my Dac to play my tunes when I want my best and highest sound quality. However, I found a way to stream the TIDAL music service from my DAC and I'm enjoying even more music. High fidelity along with the other parts of my system operate like hands to gloves. The music comes out and envelopes you. Don't talk just listen!!! |
@lak. I feel the same way you do. I was on the cable merry go round for about 4 years straight. I have have stayed with high fidelity longer than any others. I don't see myself changing that part of my system. I'm listening to a quartet as I'm writing this. The speed, space and the decay of these cymbals are blowing my mind. The natural openness is great because I used to associate open with being bright but this is not the case with the high fidelity ultimates. It's moving from instrument to instrument in an effortless way. Right now all four guys are playing and you hear all of them in proper space, timing and decay. Even when the musicians emphasize a particular note. It stands out starts and stops just right. |
@rlawry. I agree with you on the body and weight coming back after they are left in and they are played for a while. I'm listening to an amazing album that a buddy of mine turned me on to called "The Artistry". It is an absolute must if you like quartet jazz. It is smooth but lively at the same time. The musical arrangements and the segways in the songs are on point. They slow down and speed up all in a unique transition that is just intoxicating, natural and effortless. Enjoy. |
@lak. The more I moved up the chain the better it got I agree. The high fidelity ultimates have been the sweet spot for me. The music is real. The timing and space is flat out special. The realism is the key. Just sounds live. |
Back to the music everyone.Lol. I appreciate the comments from folks who have listened and want to listen more. I am currently in my weekly Friday night listening sessions with my High Fidelity Ultimates my ARC REF3 and my Revel Studio 2. I am listening to Phronesis and it is blowing my mind. my experience with this product has led me re evaluate what I used to think about them making a difference. There is no going back after this. The musicians in his band are on the same page so much that it is flat out unreal. This is where the high fidelity makes a difference. You get a fast and articulate piano player and someone who is great on percussions going with a great bass player and boom. There is a complete unraveling of each passage and the sounds between the notes are beautiful. When music is being played with speed, precision and emotion all at the same time its musical joy. These guys take you down a musical maze and the high fidelity stuff just handles it like a champ. Clarity and decay is special. I'm going to be in my sweet spot for hours tonight. This is why I'm in this hobby. I just want to listen. I want to block out the sun and sit in the shade close my eyes and be transported. We all have to understand that there will always be folks that will doubt what you hear. Trust your ears. I realized after allowing myself to go down to some other person's level was a huge mistake. Why should we care about guys that will never hear our systems and have nothing to share about something that is important to us. Getting the best sound possible is what's important. I hear people argue opinions all day long. This is audiogon. Not who shot jfk. All this marketing conspiracy crap is not what you sought when you came here to this thread. Does the person have the product? What impressions can they share with the rest of us audiophiles? There are crime shows all day on ID channel on cable. When I see someone come and they haven't listened to a product or they doubt a product that they haven't heard at all why bother with them. If you are a true audiophile the first rule is to listen. If you been on audiogon and you are a veteran you should know that by now. Wisdom and time don't always run hand in hand. It tells me why pay attention to the talk. If they haven't even listened. If someone has listen to just the entry level cable then how can they doubt an improvement on the higher up models. We have allowed some guy to matter to us that shouldn't. It's like going to Chick-Fil_A for a hamburger. No Grown man should be telling another Grown man what they like or don't like or what they are wrong about. This ain't a golf course. The snobby Golf attitude don't cut it in the real world. This is the audio world. No one can make us buy a product. This is what surprises me the most everyone. Some guys think they are so smart that they need to come save everyone on audiogon from the conspiracy. This tells you everything you need to know. The rest of us are just not smart enough to make our own decisions. I'm glad I got my own ears. I sold all my other cables because I love the sound of these. Trust yourself not some random guy who doesn't have experience with something you are considering. |
This forum has been extremely interesting. I love the music and I love how well my high fidelity has performed along with the rest of my gear. I just wonder how anyone would come on any forum. Not just this one. When they have no idea how something sounds nor do they care for even trying it. I have enjoyed meeting some great people on the forums and I have received great advice and observations from a number of people who post here and other places. I realized a long time ago that you are going to get certain things from certain people. The other thing is how anyone can post anything about anybody. I used to get worked up a little when somebody said I'm marketing when I post. I had to realize that junk in junk out. Why would I expect anyone who came on to thread that had nothing to add on a product to actually have something worthwhile to say. I'm not pointing to anyone directly but it's just an observation. I'm thankful that I found the perfect product for my musical enjoyment. I just encourage other audiophiles to consider the source of negativity when individuals don't have any audio evaluations to speak of. We all need to listen for ourselves and not let folks with personal grudges or other motives to affect our decisions on what we choose to listen to. Personally, does it sound good? What does it sound like? What do you like or don't like? Does it make you happy? Has the posting person heard the product? Does the person envy those who can purchase it? Does a person view sound the way you do? Does the poster have similar tastes? How often do you see negative posts about the actual sound of the product? How many different people post that like the product? How enthusiastic about a product are they? Are they posting about the product or are they posting because they don't like a person who likes the product? I think most audiophiles are mature and have been out of high school for a while now. I love the music. Does it make your music sound good? Grudges and attacks are just sapping all the fun out of something that we audiophiles love. Enjoy everyone and answer the question for yourself that I posed tonight. |
@everyone. I will give you an example of grudges and how people hold on to things. I sold my LSA statement to cmsgolf. I had a better one than he had. I later decided I might want one again. I almost bought his old one and decided not to. Guess he never let it go. If you say something about a friend of theirs they take it personal. This exactly what I'm talking about. This has turned into I don't like you so I will post something negative. It has nothing to do with how something sounds. I don't care about some guy who I've never met challeging my ethics. There were certain things that I was taught growing up. There are limits to what I would comment on about another man especially about a profession that an individual has worked hard to achieve. Told me all I need to know about the person making the comments. No decency or integrity. More importantly to make those comments because of an audio product. I don't know enough about him to challenge his ethics in what he does for a living. This is where we have to be careful as audiophiles. I don't speak for all audiophiles. I can only speak for myself. It's the Internet. Some guys think there is a hierarchy on audiogon. If you been on the site for a while you get a medal. Lol. I think it's silly. If something sounds good I say it. If it doesn't I don't. I have tried or owned the entire ct1 line. I haven't just tried one. I have tried them all. Listen for yourself. My comments or anyone else shouldn't determine whether you get them or not. Find out for yourself or just like cmsgolf ask a friend you know and trust. Lol. |
Here we go again. @cmsgolf hope you are enjoying the lsa statement I sold you after I decided to change and go to separates. I guess I had no integrity and ethics when you dealt with me and was getting a deal. @everyone. This is exactly what I'm talking about people are coming to this thread to make personal attacks instead of report on Audio. What surprises me is that I too owned the one from tara labs and I sold it. I personally liked the ct1 better. However it depends on what you like. Both products performed well however. Audiophiles have to decide for themselves. I speak for myself and not other audiophiles. Some guys come here and think because the been on audiogon for 15 or 20 years they deserve a medal. Lol. No listen to products for yourself or use your phone a friend card like cmsgolf did. Lol. The sweet spot for me was the high fidelity ct1 ultimates and that's what I have now and I don't even look at using conventional cables anymore. Lately, on this thread it's been more talk about people than actually how something sounds. I love this hobby and my high fidelity along with the rest of my system. I'm going to continue this journey. I might switch to a smaller system and see if the high fidelity works on the equipment I pair it with. Make your own decisions don't let anyone tell you how much you can post, report, gush or even bash a product. The only thing I can recommend in my OPINION is don't talk JUST LISTEN!!! |
@sammons I enjoyed reading your post. I remember when I was trying cable after cable and a couple later there was no enjoyment and I felt there was something missing. I heard a ct1 then I had to have it. I bought one. Then I got to demo all the way up the chain. I settled in on the ct1 ultimates and got rid of all the rest of the cables. I was on a merry go round for years. This is the longest I have stuck with a product. My equipment may change but my ct1 ultimates will always be a part of my recipe. It did for me what the others did not. It is just flat out different from anything I ever heard. In a good way. Enjoy your music. |
@truth comes out if that's the way you saw it. Whatever. lol. See everybody this is why he came here in the first place. Issues with me not the actual product. I don't own or have a financial stake in high fidelity I have a stake in how my system sounds. Audiophiles come to this thread for actual comments on a product. I'm here for that reason. I don't bash products I don't challenge people's integrity that I don't know. I could care less about how anybody comments or why they comment it's up to me to decide. I speak for myself not anyone else on this thread. I have never said anything to golf on this thread so you addressed me so I'm addressing you. If that's bizarre to you when a person challenges your integrity. Then it's bizarre to think that people won't address you. Any way. Everyone make your own decisions. |
@cmsgolf. No one has to answer to anyone. It's funny how it bothers you that someone posts how much they like something. It also shows that you have watched how I responded to others. Guess what? I'm going to keep posting how much I enjoy my high fidelity as well as the rest of the my equipment. If I see something I want to address I will. I do it because when I see people post about anything other than how something sounds then I call them on it. I think it takes away from why people come to this and other threads. Like right now this back and forward between me and you is irrelevant to most people who come here. If I'm bizarre then who cares lol. Last question. Have you heard the ct1 enhanced, ultimates or ultimate reference in your current system? People want to know what your impressions are not what you think about other people that we all will never meet, speak to or ever interact with. Then again that's just my Bizarre opinion. |
@lak how did all the music I recommended sounded. What worked and what didnt. Lol |
Great listening session last night fellas. Still sleepy stayed up too late enjoying my music. I'm going to start up again this morning. Lol. Those of you who haven't tried the high fidelity ultimates. This particular product has been the sweet spot for me. At first I thought that I shouldn't pay this much for a interconnect but I was quickly satisfied when it flat out musically performed in my system like nothing I have ever had. When you have musicians that are really good on thier instruments it keeps up with it all effortlessly. Last night there were piano and drum passages that were quick and back to back and on top of each other. The high fidelity ultimates still got it all in a manner that allowed you to really see how great a guy can play. |
@sounds even better today. I'm listening to the Bennie green trio. Sounds like they are in the room with me. If you enjoy the small club atmosphere it makes you feel like you are there. |
Oh farts make sounds I will give somebody credit for actually commenting on how something sounds. Anyway back to the music.@lak try erik truffaz. Three disc set. Jazz fusion kind of flavor. Expensive but well worth it. Recorded well too. Well I guess I have nothing else to add. I actually own and listen to the product. Till I listen again. @everyone enjoy your music and this hobby. |
|
@ddraudt @tbg. Ok I will try to get down there. It would be great to listen. I love to actually hear different systems. Also it also good to see the high fidelity on completely different equipment than mine. Also it's good to talk to other folks about things they have tried and how it works in thier systems. Really excited!!! It would be nice to finally put faces to the names or ears to the names. Lol. |
@ddraudt. I will bring new music I got. I'm actually thinking about trying some different equipment with the high fidelity. I might get a smaller system. Still high end but smaller monitor speakers. Just a thought though. |
@ddraudt. Yup I have thought about changing things myself. I have started to use that Tidal streaming service and running it through my Resonessence invicta mirus dac. I'm getting some really great sound. The high fidelity ultimates really help with realism. It allows me to still enjoy the quality of sound with the streaming. Tidal is supposed to be cd quality. It's the best streaming service I've heard so far. I let my parasound cd1 go in favor of my Dac. I'm glad I did it. However, sometimes I miss the silver disc. Lol. |
@ddraudt. Also happy to be able to hear your system soon. That's what the hobby is about listening. All that other stuff is useless to me. |
@ddraudt. That's good to hear. More people actually listening. I have a friend who has another friend who wants to listen next week. He is a true audiophile. His dad is an audiophile as well. He is interested in hearing how they sound. I will get him over my house late next week. We will see how it goes. I'm will go listen to his system the following week. Looking forward to getting to hear yours as well. Enjoy!!! |
@sammons. Great set up. I've heard that soulutions 540 player. It's great. I'm happy with my resonessence. I've really enjoy it. I remember when I was avoiding dacs. Now all the CD players have them and if you set a standalone dac up in the right situation you can have all the music you ever wanted at the tip of your fingers with great sound quality. I used to fight it. I don't anymore. |
@sammons. Do what you can to make it work if possible with in the rules where you live. The more you have in the more it improves. |
See we still got the gloomers and doomers around. Lol. |
@audiolabyrinth. Thanks. High fidelity does it for me and tara labs does it for you. I can respect that. |
@ddraudt how is your system sounding? |
Calvinjohjson at me dot com |
I might have a conflict because I might have my God son. I committed before i knew you were having a session. I will know friday. |
@lak. I le mine hang but it's because of the kind of rack I have and the listen space. I just try to keep them off the floor. |
I'm listening right now best sound I've had on the earth of my listening area. I hate I'm missing the listening session fellas this weekend. It's always good to hear the real music through an actual system. Don't talk just listen. Lol. |
@ddraudt@tbg. I'm sorry I couldn't make it. I committed to my God son right before you invited me. I wish I could have been there. I did a little experimenting today by hooking up my gear to the Sonus faber toy bookshelves and once again the high fidelity ultimate interconnects and power cord provided me with small scale listening enjoyment. I could imagine what yall were hearing yesterday. Now I'm even more curious to hear both of your systems. |
@ddraudt@tbg@lak how is it going I have been so busy at work I haven't been listening as much. Im hoping to get a listen in this weekend. @lak I will get you some more cd suggestions soon. |
@ddraudt. I was back listening today. Great sound this morning. |
@ddraudt listening is back up. Straight ear joy!!! |
Hey fellas, I been jamming most of the day. High fidelity is still performing at a high level. Really enjoying it all. |
@ddraudt. How are r u. I see there are still guys that have nothing to add still posting away. Anyway keep enjoying your journey |
@flplanner2000. I understand what you feel about hearing the improvements in your system. One time I got a new high fidelity ultimate and I thought that I didn't like it at first. I played it for some time and then it bloomed. Separation and musicality in spades. Patience is required but greatly rewarded. |
@jon2020 I agree with you. Positive or negative at least the person could say they have heard it and what they like or didn't like. Too much of the non-sound related talk for me. Im going to listen to my music instead of all that other stuff. |
@audiolabyrith. I'm using the ultimate power cable and ultimate interconnect. May move up in the future but this is the sweet spot for me. |
See we still got the groomers and doomers around. Lol |
I see we still have the same doubters. I used to think cables didn't make a difference. I'm way out of that camp. For those who wonder why folks have nothing better to do than come on to this thread and doubt what high fidelity does. Please you owe it to yourself. Take a listen. Decide for yourself. It's your money. It's your music. It does it for me. Whatever you do when you look at threads make sure that you get opinions from actual listeners. More reports coming soon. Lol. Everyone I quit talking so much and start listening more. Lol. High fidelity will always be a part of my system as much as everything else changes. |
@ddraudt. In the middle of major changes. I will announce them in a week or so. I think I have arrived at my final remake of my system. I will still be using my high fidelity ic and power cord. I'm going to get it set up and give you fellas an update. I'm in a good place audio wise. I finally think I have caught the elusive audio ghost. Lol. Glad to hear you visited norm's. I had to miss both sessions with yall because of commitments at home or work. I'm still going to get to both places. I want to hear both systems. I have been on here much because of being busy at work. |
@cmsgolf. I first apologize for going off on you a couple of months ago. I hope all is well with your system and it sounds great. I'm glad you got to try the ct1. I have the ct1 ultimates and I'm never selling them. I have changed my whole system but I will not change that. The interconnects are special. The allow a smooth airy treble in my system and a upper midrange that is truly special. It also provides tight, agile and deep bass in my system. I hope that you try the others. I think that the ultimates are the sweet spot. Enjoy. @ddraudt@tbg@lak I just got my speakers in. I have the Gato fm6 from Denmark. I have a friend who has them and they are really special. Best treble I have heard so far. I usually take another route from close friends but in this case I had to have them. I will announce other subtractions and additions soon. I will have a tube integrated and probably keep the resonessence dac or get a disc player that doubles as a dac later in the year. I will not change my interconnects though. The ct1 ultimates that Rick Schultz made me are absolutely superb. The magnetism along with his design is just flat out the best I've heard to date! I know I haven't posted in a while but when you hear the speed, clarity and realism it hooks you. Enjoy everyone. |
