Hexfreds?

Should I upgrade my SLI-80 to the F1 configuration? Biggest difference in F1 is Hexfred diodes in the power supply. How much sonic difference do they make?

It's called the SLI-80 Formula One (F1). It's got hexfreds somewhere. It's all greek to me(????) I'll check out those 5AS4s. Thanks, Jay

Doesn't it have tube rectifiers? Maybe there are SS rectifiers for the fixed bias supply; I haven't looked in mine. I got a significant improvement replacing the Sovtek 5U4g's with NOS 5AS4s.
