Hmmm ….. this is just a guess based on my personal experiences.
I had the KANTO YU-5’s and KANTO subwoofer in a prior desktop PC rig, and then moved to a 2.1 TV audio “ C” system.
The speakers similarly suddenly f****d up royally, with no easy explanation , and no DIY fix available …. No matter what I tried .
These were powered active speakers now assessed as unfixable, and were simply pooched - full stop - with a claim for full brand new unit replacements were made through my dealer. Yes …. The faulty units were shipped back and were replaced with new units directly from KANTO under warranty. ( Thankfully the FUHBAR occurred while they were still under warranty ….)
TAKEAWAY:
These speakers can deliver a modest / yeoman class audio performance with an understanding that they are still just budget class ChiFi options with risks,. The incidence of failure is a harbinger that OEM/distributor warranties matters big-time,
A reality check is that. investing in budget class build ChiFi products to save a few bucks is an understood and assumed potential unit risk in general.
I sold off the KANTOs and replaced them with active TRIANGLE bookshelf speakers . The TRIANGLEs have a clear superior build quality and a discerning stepped up audio performance comparatively.IMO.
Good luck.
