So my comment was removed as it was off-topic. Which is not a rule, listed anywhere.

Staying on-topic shouldn’t need to be a rule, because it’s just a common courtesy. But it’s a rule just the same. In fact, it’s Rule #1, if you’d bothered to look:

I truly wish to understand why my comment was removed. Who was offended by what?

If you truly want to understand, you can contact the moderators using the Contact Us link that is at the bottom of each page. I've found them to be very responsive. You might want to consider that there are multiple reasons for them to delete a post and being offensive is only one of them.
