My first thought is the ground connection strength that is somewhere is not tight enough. Thoroughly check the preamp's input and output jacks. Check if it's loose anywhere within the preamp chasis and even amp's and speaker binding posts. Try to swap interconnects and check the plugs on your current ones.
Help with buzzing sound
Hello everyone. I recently noticed something very weird about my tube integrated amp. Past a certain volume level (about 12 o'clock; I usually listen with the volume control set at the 10:30 position), my speakers will start emitting a buzzing sound when I touch the volume control. The buzzing sound gets louder if I raise the volume and keep touching the volume control. But as soon as there are no contact between myself and the volume control the buzzing sound stops, no matter what the volume level. Since this buzzing sound only shows up with the volume control set past my usual listening level and when I touch the volume control, it has no bearing whatsoever on my amp's performance soundwise but I'm wondering if there might be something wrong with it. Any input would be apreciated.
