Help with audio alchemy ddp1

Hi all!

Just bought second hand ddp1 Wich was spesose to work perfectly but I have some problem.

The first is that I can't install the USB driver on my computer. When I connect the dac it is not recognize and when I try to install it from elac website it said that the dac must be connected and then it can't continue..

I try 2 computers, updating the fw, playing with the dac inputs but nothing.

A second problem is with the volume control which goes mad.. and the third one is when I'm connecting my Allo digione signeture source (serving as room endpoint with dietpi)

To the dac it once in a while (few minutes) stop playing for a fraction of a second, make a 'clik' sound and the pll indicator is going red. Any idea of how to fix it? I tried to play files from the network and from tidal but same problem...

Try to connect with elac support, but they a really slow and don't very helpful...

Bummer, I am running that dac myself without any problems. I never tried a USB cable so can't help there but I have a couple questions for you:
Did the person using it before have any problems with it?
Are you using a 75 ohm digital cable? The reason I ask is because when it's red, it is not seeing a signal.
Are you using the original power supply that came with the unit, or are you using the optional power supply?
Hi.
The person claim that the product was working without any problem.
I'm using this cable:http://www.requisiteaudio.com/studio-cables/
Which is 75ohm. The same setup work great with my hegel h90.

I'm using the ps-5 power supply
Sorry, I have nothing other than rechecking the 50 or 60 hz to ensure it is correct. Would like to hear what you find out from Elac though.
I too am experiencing problems with the DDP-1. I'm getting no sound out of my system when it's hooked up and as roip1 mentions with his, the volume control has gone "mad". I'm in communication with Peter but I'm hoping someone here has an idea or two what to do. Is there a way to factory reset the unit?
Yes.
You can push back while powering the dmp back on.

The volume control problems is due to a very sensitive alignment that need to be done. You can try to do this on your own, but it can take some time.

I sent my unit for audio alchemy for repair and now it works very good.

Hooked it up with schiet Aegir and the combo is amazing
Glad to hear you got it sorted out.
Something like that would drive me crazy.

All the best,
Nonoise
Just an update: as it turned out, my DDP-1 unit needed to be returned to the factory for repair.

Unlike roip1, however, my experience with Peter and Richard at the ELAC factory has been excellent. Both were very responsive and Richard has been excellent in terms of customer support.

I had been running the DDP-1 in tandem Quicksilver Mid-Monos and now am replacing them with Peter's DPA-1 amplifier.
Now it appears I have another problem: the DPA-1 turns on (display is functional) but I get no sound. I checked all the connections and they seem secure/tight but the amp itself never becomes warm to the touch after being on.

Might anybody have a suggestion to try? I reviewed the rather simple troubleshooting steps and nothing seems amiss.

The AA gear is great but this is the second time I've had an issue with it.
I should add that I hear a very faint electronic buzzing sound emanating from the unit.
It's a bummer you're having so many problems with it. Hope you don't take any offense to this but do you have it on the "preamp" setting as well as the proper input setting?

Hi guys, do you know if it is possible to use a ddp1 with a raspberry pi3 streamer?

“The volume control problems is due to a very sensitive alignment that need to be done. You can try to do this on your own, but it can take some time.”

I also purchased a second hand DDP-1 that has a volume tracking issue. Would anyone know how the alignment process can be attempted on my own ? I contacted ELAC and Peter by email but did not receive a response yet. Thanks !
