Help need to play 3D Movies from external Hdd

I need some technical help to play 3D Movies which is stored on external Hdd. My equipments are...
Thoshiba 1tb (only has usb3/2out)
MAC book pro (Ratina/8gb/256ssd)
ONKYO TX-NR818 (3D ready)
Samsung 3D tv
How the connection to be made through receiver to get 5.1 audio + movies? If the connection thru MBP,how to configure?
