Has anyone had tech difficulties streaming through AudiNirvana?

I first heard about an app called Audinirvana on Audiogon. It's a streaming app from France that users claimed enhanced the audio quality on their Macs. I tried the 30-day free trial, and liked what I heard enough to make the $100 download purchase. Audinirvana is aligned to work through Tidal or a similar subscription service, and it sent out a nice power boost. I was using it through my Parasound Hint integrated amp, which is about 5 years old.  Unfortunately, I soon started getting streaming drop outs—the sound just stopping—and it was not due to a weak wifi signal. The problem lay in the app, I was pretty sure. I looked up the issue on Audinirvana's community blog, and sure enough, other users were having similar problems. Within days, Audinirvana pushed an update through, the drop outs ceased, and life was good again. Until a few days ago. I was playing an LP when the sound cut out suddenly, and a burning plastic smell seeped from my amp. Now I am not suggesting that Audinirvana fried my gear—especially since I was not using it when the problem occurred. Still, I feel that the app was perhaps pushing the power level outside my amp's comfort level. I was wondering if any users have had similar issues. I don't want to quit using Audinirvana, but I would do that rather than put my integrated amp or my Sony PhA-3 headphone amp, at risk. Maybe I should just stream my Mac with Tidal, and not fly (and fry) too close to the sun? Thanks for any advice.

The Audinirvan rep said it must be a defective amp. I am getting a circuit repaired for about $100, and then I will try streaming the app again.
Thanks for the feedback. The Mac seems fine with everything. It might just be the amp isn't compatible for some reason.
I’ve had great luck with Audirvana for Tidal and Qobuz on my Oppo 103, but also with my MacMini using Safari. I’m thinking that the Mac is having problems with the USB or the Para is failing. I don’t think it’s the stream from the services.
