I've also considered upgrading from my present OR and OM to deluxe versions, so far held off as I'm entirely content with the present streaming. My OR and OM modified with Finisar 1475 transceivers, AfterDark optical cabling. Assuming one would need to upgrade both OR and OM to get full potential of upgrade. I had pretty much forgotten about this upgrade, reading the responses from the thread @boulder_bob has me thinking again.
Has anyone compared the Opticalrendu streamer to the upgraded Opticalrendu Deluxe?
I am currently using an Urenrendu with an optical feed and have enjoyed it for several years. I have acquired the upgrade itch. It’s my impression that the Opticalrendu might be the next logical upgrade step. Has anybody compared the original to the newer Deluxe version. I have no doubt that the Deluxe version is better than the original, but by how much? Noticeable or huge or somewhere in between? Opticalrendus have become bargains on the used market, possibly because owners are upgrading to the Deluxe. The new Deluxe version is $1600. I could not find a post comparing them.
