The 14s are also better in their inductance measurements according to Cap. If you like the 12s, the 14s are just sweeter sounding. The new interconnects are also worth considering. I really think Cap has knocked it out of the park with these new cables - maybe he could send you a pair to demo

@cd45123 ... Given my research on this issue and now having spoken to a couple of electricians, I’m gonna pass on the SP14s. I think there is the potential for real problems with this ground wire, and I’m not convinced that there will be any material difference in sound quality to justify making the change. The SP12s sound really great in my system, so if it ain’t broke, I'm not gonna fix it.

Anyone here using the model 34 speaker cable I’m thinking about replacing my sp12 with it. 

If you dont want to try the sp14 with the ground wire, the 34 doesnt have a ground wire.

I believe I was one of the first people to purchase the SP14 speaker cables and I had no idea it came with a ground wire. I received an email from Cap after I placed the order and he asked me how far my system would be from an open outlet with a ground and a short explanation of why and what to do with the ground wire. The ground wire does not cause any issues in my system but I'm very hard pressed to tell you a difference in sound with vs without the ground. I prefer my (Veritas Cables) Aperta speaker cables.
