Greenville, SC

Audiophile looking to organize monthly or bi-monthly audio get-togethers in the Greenville, SC area. I am a former member of the Boston Audio Society and still stay in contact with many of them. Would like to develop same type of group here.

I moved to Charlotte, NC a little over one year ago from NJ. There, we had an audio club about 60-70 people strong. I miss that. I am very interested in being part of an audio club here in Charlotte or in the general area. In about 2 months my new audio room will be substantially complete. I will be happy to host a meeting or just a gathering every couple of months or more. Anyone interested?

Mike,

My wife and I are currently looking at semi-retirement in NC and are visiting the Lake Norman area this spring to check things out. If we make the committment and move then I would be greatly interested in getting a local group together.

BTW - I was/am a member of the NY Rave, and the LI group as well.
My work and travel schedule is chaotic so sometimes plans change as they say but I'm in Greenville SC and would love to meet up with new audio-nut friends to enjoy some good music together. There's another one of us locally (Cymbop) as well; we've been trying to put something together but my schedule has been a challenge; hoping to get over that and hook up soon.
PTM: Be sure to look up Robert Taylor, longtime Audio Research & Vandersteen dealer near Lake Norman.
Ptmconsulting,
We live on Lake Wylie and so far we really enjoy living here. Please let me know when you are in the Lake Norman area. Hopefully my new audio room will be done and I can try to get others in the area for a music session.

Zephyr24069, Others,
Lets start planning some gatherings. Maybe we can start a list of interested people. I wouldn't mind having the first one here when my room is ready. I am about 5 minutes from the NC/SC boarder so Greenville can't be more than 1.5 hours away.
Sounds good...the NC/SC border is about an hour away so it's not that bad at all. Let's get in touch with Cymbop and others and get a plan together!
Hopefully my new room will be finished enough to start using by the end of March. Let's start planning a get together some time near the end of March or early April, if that works for any interested people. Or, we can meet somewhere else.
Any ideas on how to get a list started? Private emails? Ultimately, we will need an off-line contact list.
I think that is probably the only way......doing it offline using Agon in-mail will give everyone peace of mind and keep the spam-bots and web-spiders from gathering anything we don't want them to have like emails and addresses, etc....to tie back to system configs, etc....
Sounds good. I don't use Agon much. Can you give me a clue where to access Agon in-mail? I will get the ball rolling.
Login, do a member search, lookup a name and then click on it to view feedback, find what they have for sale (if anything), etc...you will find a 'Send Message' link on the left side of the page......
My wife and I are shopping for our "retirement home" in or near Asheville, NC.  I haven't found much in the way of audio dealers and have yet to find an audio club in the area.
@ejr1953

I live near Asheville. There are a few audiophiles in this area, but no club that I'm aware of. We might be able to arrange some get-togethers. Over the years, most of us have visited each other for listening sessions. Drop me a line when you get moved in and we'll see if we can get something started. It would be fun!

waltersalas,
We are in the early stages of having a new home built in the Biltmore Lake community, near Asheville.  I suspect the new home won't be ready until the end of 2020, maybe into 2021.  And yes, I am having a "bonus room" above the garage, 13'6" x 18'11".
I did find the Carolina Audio Society and will investigate that club when we are down in Asheville.
