Good headphones to pair with Bluesound Node 2i?

I am dipping my toes into the streaming pond, and have settled on the Bluesound Node 2i.  I would like to take advantage of its Bluetooth 5.0 and use wireless headphones for wandering around the house.  It seems more than a few reviewers think that wireless audiophile headsets are not quite there yet. So, I have a few questions:

1- Anyone have experience with audiophile-quality wireless headphones and the Node 2i?
2- Would it be possible to just use wired headphones and attach a Bluetooth 5.0 receiver?  3- Does anyone have any strong opinions on wireless headphones at around a $500 or less budget?   Black Friday is coming up, and I am not averse at spending a bit more or buying used.
