What is the value of that R2R model WITHOUT the Alice Alice treatment? The question should be about overall value proposition of a R2R desk in today’s world. Even if one can afford to buy a R2R deck used or new, the rarity of available albums/tapes and price (best tapes are $500 per album) makes it a worthless endeavor, IMHO.
