@dhcod Why not try both ways? I did and preferred direct contact. You’ll hear opinions on both ways but it really is down to one’s taste at the end of the day. Further, hard washers like Dover’s carbon fiber will retain much of the direct contact effect, and may even improve on it. However, I do not recommend soft washers or rubber/Sorbothane gaskets.
