Future of cables?

Hi I recently purchased ligntling-USB female plug to use iPhone with DACs, however, my iPhone throws message that it's not  right accessory for iPhone. 
How iPhone knows about it? Is original ones micro-chipped like car keys?

"Your equipment using an illegal version of AudioQuest Viper cable and will be shut down"
