Fuses that matter.

I have tried six different fuses, including some that were claimed to not be directional. I have long used the IsoClean fuses as the best I have heard. No longer! I just got two 10 amp slow-blows WiFi Tuning Supreme fuses that really cost too much but do make a major difference in my sound. I still don't understand how a fuse or its direction can alter sound reproduction for the better, but they do and the Supreme is indeed! I hear more detail in the recordings giving me a more holographic image. I also hear more of the top and bottom ends. If only you could buy them for a couple of bucks each.

I replaced the Gold Hi Fi tuning fuses with the Supreme tuning fuses in four components with excellent results. The gold made nearly no difference but the supreme was clearly a step up.
Bryon did not demo the newest Supreme fuse that I found considerable better than there first two efforts. There were some measurement tests on fuses on one of the zine sites that were very interesting and enlightening, don't recall which one. What was interesting was they all measured quite different.
Bryoncunningham, to bad you weren't able to test the High Fi tuning Supreme fuses, they really did make a difference and you don't need to listen very closely like you do with other fuse comparisons. I've tried most, It's the first one I would indorse.
Well said,,,Greoffkait,,, my experience with the Supremes are the same. I've tried different fuses before with little or no change, but for once the Supremes made an unquestionable improvement.
I wonder if the nay sayers here have even given them a try, or is it the old, I know it all so I'll just bury my head it the sand attitude.
Mapman said , " Some people hear differences with fuses they like " I wasn't aware that we were suppose to like or dislike them. I just try things, if the sound improves I leave them in, if not I take them out. I have a closet full of stuff I tried. The fuses are still in place.
And to not try something that a particular individual is pushing is an odd way to judge a product. Yeah, why learn something new when it's easier and less expensive to bury your head in the sand.
Seems like things here are getting confusing with multiple tests that could take years. I think I'll just stay with my old method, if it sounds better leave it in place, if not remove it, the fuses are still in place. I suppose we could look at fuses as everything else in audio, you could spend years trying to find the very best for your system, sometimes referred to here as chasing your tail, or you can just buy the one you prefer and enjoy the music.
This past weekend a group of music loving friends and I were listening to my music maker and got discussing the Supreme fuses I'd install a few months back.We decided to take all the fuses out and replace them with the factory ones. We didn't remove the ones from the amp as there very difficult to change. The preamp, DAC and CD player were changed back. It was only a short time before we all agreed that the rhythm and drive had been reduced. The debate is over for us forever.
The after market fuses I installed made a clear difference and at a low cost. One of the best tweak/upgrades to date.
