zavato OP802 posts07-26-2017 9:51amSo, who thinks I should delete this thread? +1 shut it down, as it’s in the "Technical Forum" and there nothing technical being said for why they would be giving better sound or sound different when reversed. It need to be in the Misc Audio forum where anything can be said. Cheers George |
Are you high, Georgie?
Obviously not as high as you Geoff, your out there in the cosmos somewhere. Cheers George |
I have a lot more engineering science under my belt than you two guys put together.
You directed this statement at Almarg and Ralph!!!!! you really are certifiable. You've also been laughed off many other technical forums by even higher technical authorities than them, for your unexplained findings, you really do think you are the new "Audio Messiah"?? We can only live in hope the same happens here. Cheers George |
And this thread is only about fuses.
If it were "just " about fuses, this thread wouldn’t even have to go over a few intelligent technical posts. This is more about some here who want to make out that $$$ fuses have some hidden magic (voodoo) to be found within, with an answer to the holy grail of great audio sound, nothing more, nothing less. Can you give some other technical forums you visit so we can see what they think of you there also?
Cheers George
Don't worry Geoff, all I had to do was Google "Geoff Kait audio" and wow, you really get a new one ripped on many forums, even Stereophile which is usually a fairly calm forum. Cheers George |
why pick me to become unhinged on? I believe because it’s oh so easy to do. Can you give some other technical forums you visit so we can see what they think of you there also? Cheers George |
Someone, Anyone, tell me what to measure with an VOM or LCR meter or any other way to know what direction to drop these fuses in.... I really don’t want to listen to them a week each way to figure it out... If it is that obvious, someone should have figured this out... So There is no way, it’s all voodoo. The minuscule amount, (millionths of ohms) that claim to have been measured can be attributed to all sorts of things as Almarg explained numerous times. And let just say there was a millionths of ohms difference, do you think a regulator that sits next in line in the circuit would care one iota!!!!!!! this is all BS and so are the people that claim it to be so. what about the dirty plug wiper contacts in your power point. What people are hearing is are fuses that have seen too many turn on cycles which sags and carbons/corrodes them up, just replace for the same $1 fuse and your good to go. Here is the same fuse that has seen too many turn on surges, over time left to right. https://i.stack.imgur.com/0uqWX.jpg Cheers George |
bdp242,496 postsYeah, Roger Modjeski (and Ralph Karsten) are deaf. Amazing how they can, in spite of that, design and build such good sounding electronics (and in the case of Modjeski, ESL loudspeakers). Beethoven incarnate! And you, Geoff, you have designed and built what amplification circuits? Such hubris!

bdp24 had to look it up though
hubrisˈhjuːbrɪs/noun- "synonyms:arrogance, conceit, conceitedness, haughtiness, pride, vanity, self-importance, self-conceit, pomposity, superciliousness, feeling of superiority; hauteur; informaluppitiness, big-headedness"the self-assuring hubris among economists was shaken in the late 1960s"

Of course engineers have measured fuses.
Not in the way you promote them, they wouldn't be stupid enough. Cheers George |
I talked with a software engineer who also had a masters degree in electrical engineering. He said, "Let me look at it." About an hour later he came to me and said, "I've found the problem, let me show you." He had found a 250 kHz signal modulated onto the power sine wave.
You said it all buckhorn_cortez He as an engineer measured and he found. There's non of that going on here with the pro side of fuses can sound better, also when they are reversed. Cheers George |
So to be very clear this is only reducing the voltage drop of the fuse **in the holder**. Its not only audible its also easily measured.
To clarify this more, it "maybe" only audible if the supply stages after the fuse/holder are NOT regulated. Most sources, s/s preamps are so it shouldn't be audible . Some power amps can be, most not. Cheers George |
There are fuses that are made to be soldered in, they look like resistors, and don't cost much. I use them on conservatively rated power supplies for exactly this reason.
+1 voodoo free But you really need to make sure they are Cryo'ed and in the right way around. goo.gl/Y3ENpJCheers George |
almarg7,343 posts07-12-2017 7:02amCareful, George! You may find yourself accused of being "irrational," as I appear to have been in the second post following my previous post :-)
Best regards, -- Al
Let them accuse Al, and we can both be called "flat earthers" This "Tech Talk" forum and is for technical talk, I see nothing here that resembles this. Maybe it should be moved to a new forum heading for things like this, called "Things we can't explain" Cheers George |
This threads insane, it has no technical value at all, as there can’t be a technical discussion on this subject. SO IT SHOULDN’T EVEN BE IN THIS "Tech Talk" FORUM. Mods please please shift it to the appropriate forum, say the "
Misc Audio " forum, to stop polluting this forum. Cheers George |
