I have been testing a full loom of Furutech NCF cables over the last couple of weeks with a new integrated amplifer. The observations and conclusions are from three audiophiles and a recording engineer in a blind test. The greatest positive impact from these cables have been on the digital front end (Esoteric K-01XD se SACD player). The XLR interconnect was a game changer in sound stage, openness and reverb trails. The power cable beat out my Zavino Majestic MKII and a Furutech plug designed cable. it wasn't as great of a change as the interconnect. On the integrated the Zavino MKII beat out the Furutech NCF. The speaker cable was about a toss up with the Furutech NCF a little better but not for the price difference. The lesson is you need to test this stuff in your own system. We all had the same conclusions and the recording engineer was shocked at the difference a cable could make and I will be getting a new interconnect and power chord.
Furutech Flux50 NCF shoutout
Inserting the above in the power supply feeding digital components or amplifiers is a major upgrade no matter the quality of the power cable employed. I use Nordost Valhalla on digital and Acoustic Revive reference on the power amplifier and in both instances the insertion resulted in substantially improved sounstaging and instrument separations. Try it or you won’t know what your system is capable of.
