I have a pair of old B&W CDM 9NT speakers that I've loved for years. Lately the upper frequencies have started to break up on one speaker. (I've swapped the speaker cables to the amp and even swapped the RCA inputs to make sure it was the speaker that was going badly)
How can I tell if a crossover is going bad, or if the tweeter is dying?
I am in luck - both replacement parts appear to be available.
I'm no technician, but, if you have the time, you could swap tweeters (or crossovers), if it's not too much work. That should tell you what to replace.
