For ARC Ref 6 owners Heat?

How bad is the heat?

I understand that everybody loves it but also the heat is a real issue.

I don't have a lot of space in my listening room and the idea of using a fan on it is a deal breaker.

Is it so great the heat isn't a problem? Is it not as bad as people say and it's just the heat given off by your typical tube amp?

I suppose it does produce some but what I would only refer to being warm at the most but as fsonocsmith replied best with no shelf above. Great pre-amp - two thumbs up - really enjoying mine paired up with 75SE and driving Avantgardes :)
