Thanks Stringreen this makes so much sense I am surprised VPI doesn't put it in their manuals.
For All Those With A VPI Rim Drive
I have always been fastidious in my turntable setup, but this morning I woke up with a start. I had carefully leveled my turntable a while ago, but didn't level the motor assembly. Sure enough, it was off...had to shim the back end to make it square. I thought the sound of my turntable was great, but with the added adjustment, the sound is even cleaner/clearer. I guess there is always a way (or two) to make it better.
