Finding this…

Watching a YouTube PSI Swiss speakers video, they played this: Tennessee Ernie Ford HD uncompressed sound Western Electric cd.  It is a ghost.  Extensive internet search turned up the CD on really obscure Asian sites with no way of ordering.  The reviewer loaded the CD into a CEC transport, so it exists.

Thanks for any insight.

Sense a tinge of sarcasm.  Fine.  Honestly, I’ve none of his music.  But, this interests me and the guitar accompaniment is outstanding.

I’ve so many examples of artists found outside their normal venues who surprise.  “The Long Black Veil” with Sting singing Gaelic.  Charlie Rich knocking down jazz piano.  Lauper holding her own with blues.  Phil Collins Big Band.  Yehudi Menuhin alongside Grappelli.  It’s just fun.  That’s all.  Cheers

dekay  Thank you.  Found the CD on Ebay and ordered.  Curious about the recording quality.  The YouTube link you provided was a better recording than the one I had found.

After securing and listening to the aforementioned cd, must declare the recording/mastering to be extraordinary.  As for the material… mixed.  Guitar accompaniment is Glenn Campbell and quite good, if not restrained.

Tennessee knew his audience well and keeps everything within bounds.  I can imagine this played on a 1964 Zenith console stereo for background while mom irons shirts and hums along.

He reminds me somewhat of Doris Day who had enough phrasing and horsepower to stand in front of the Basie orchestra, instead chose mainstream pop, utterly safe material.  While not strongly recommended, I’ve new appreciation for TEF’s voice and phrasing.  The recording is so natural.
