Finding Power Amp for Cabasse Murano

I have a chance to purchase Cabasse Murano quite cheap ($2000). So I’m finding a power amp for these beautiful speakers within $3000. Moreover, I will use DMP-A8 as the Streamer/DAC/Preamp.

The speaker spec:

  • Frequency Response: 48 Hz – 24 kHz
  • Efficiency: 87 dB/W/m
  • Nominal Impedance: Compatible with 8 ohm (lowest 3.8 ohm)
  • Crossover Points: 800Hz and 3.5kHz
  • Cabinet Design: Ported
  • Power Handling: 150 watts nominal, 1,000 watts peak

Fosi V3 Monos - 225 watts@4 ohms. 330@2 ohms. $249 a pair with the 48 volt power supply. Why spend four-figures?

I'd seriously consider Cabasse's own Abyss amplier (less than 2k. new) Read the reiviews, you might find it worth considering.

I have tried a few solid state options with my Cabasse setups, but in the end I went tubes to make those mid really sing. 

A Line Magnetic LM-6061A should give you sufficient power to drive these speakers.

If you really want SS, I think I would go with Exposure or SPL power amps as they give more refined sound.
