For me these were a game changer. Viborg Copper. Terminated onto Furutech-fs-a36 cable. Both after many plugs, they made a positive change in my system. I also made a set for another member, using the Silver plugs & he won't stop praising them!

So, is the theory behind these BFA plugs that it has a higher contact area than the springs in a normal banana? Because almost the whole cylinder is making contact?
On the Viborg, these look nice with the linear spring, should have similar contact area to the BFA's. These for example: Amazon.com: Viborg VB402R Pure Copper Speaker Banana Plugs (4pcs/Set) Rhodium Plated, Hi End Red Copper Audio Banana Connectors for HiFi Speaker Cable Wire DIY : Electronics About the same price as the BJC locking one's, and I agree the locking feature is controversial. Honestly I am liking the Viborg one's they look like just the right balance between price and quality... hex key instead of flat-head screws, comes with the shrink tube, even has choice of colors. Thanks much -J

@jeff333 - "Because almost the whole cylinder is making contact?" I think yes. The whole exterior of the cylinder makes contact. And the copper is sprung and always applies an outward force onto the inside surface of the binding post. It's a very firm fit, never loosens over time and I've never had one fall out. It's really a simple, elegant and inexpensive solution. |
